DR. ORAVEC | RESPIROLOGY

Dr. Oravec joined Mount Benson Medical Clinic in 2022. She completed Internal Medicine training at McMaster University followed by Respirology sub-specialization at the University of British Columbia, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.

In addition to seeing patients referred to this clinic, Dr. Oravec provides Respiratory Medicine consultative services at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH), interprets pulmonary function testing, and performs procedures such as bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and chest drainage. 

Throughout her training, Dr. Oravec has had the opportunity to live and work throughout the country, including in Alberta, Quebec, Ontario, and now British Columbia. She is grateful to call Nanaimo home and to care for members of this community.

WHILE YOU WAIT

While you are waiting…your doctor may have ordered tests that will help Dr. Oravec in her assessment. Getting these done before your consult visit will streamline the process. If your problem has a lifestyle component, chances are that Dr. Oravec will give you advice about making lifestyle changes. Get a head start by making those changes now including cutting down on smoking, weight (if this is an issue).  Getting active is (almost) always a good idea.
